Bumblebrook has a beautiful hilly setting and is fantastic good value. This property was originally a reward to a soldier returning from the First World War.....

.... Guests stay in motel-style units housed in a bungalow a hundred metres from the main house, the path between the two lit by hurricane lamps. The units are combinations of brick and wood, all with verandahs. Don’t expect luxury here – you’re not paying for it - but you will be comfortable and have all that you need: kitchens, sofas, separate sitting-rooms in the two family-units and somewhere beautiful to sit. The views are a heady combination of sloping fields, eucalyptus trees and the distant ranges. It’s a ten-minute walk down to swimming holes in the river where you can take aplunge, have a picnic and look out for a platypus. There are many other walks on the property and there's a large number of birdlife and, of course, kangaroos and wombats. Rates include a breakfast basket of eggs, bacon, jams, bread, juice and cereals, and in the evening, you can stoke up the BBQ or just turn on the oven for dinner. Finally, this is an excellent spot for children, with a tree-house, small play area, lots of farm animals to feed - cows, goats, donkeys, chickens, dogs and cat. Weary adults are well-catered for as well - Wendy can book you in for a massage, perfect after a day spent exploring.
