With wide, high views of the Wadbilliga National Park and Wilderness, Delphine’s charming mud-brick and timber cottages sit in proud isolation. The beams come from old bridges and railway sleepers, the washbasins are antique, windows are old, restored lead lights, beds are queen size (I enjoyed a mahogany four-poster in Woodruff) and all in all they have a warm, wooden, well-made feeling that encourages you to spend time indoors as well as out.....

.... In case of bad weather the cottages are well stocked with TV, DVD, stereo, library and games - and fresh flowers are laid out for your arrival. Two even have record-players with selections of LPs to spin upon them. The starter breakfast hamper contains a generous supply of bacon, free-range eggs, freshly home-made bread, jars of jam, ground coffee, a selection of teas, berry and nut muesli, milk and juice. Delphine reckons the hamper lasts between one and two days for most guests. The two mud-brick cottages are set on 100 acres of native bushland with old Port Jackson figs and rock lilies growing out of granite boulders, while Woodruff occupies its own 16 acres and is idyllically positioned high on a hill with valley and mountain views and wombats below the verandah. Just nearby on the coast is Delphine's new project - a bali-inspired beach house, mostly decorated in whites and rattan furniture with a back garden that extends down to Wallaga Lake with lovely views over it and the mountains. This is fully self-contained, modern and dog-friendly too. Brogo Dam is just down the road for canoeing, swimming and bass fishing. Some air-conditioned. All are dog-friendly.
