There are three lodges at Wollumbin, each so extraordinary that you will want to try them all. In ‘Altwood’, a luxurious cave, you can lie in bed and gaze out through a wall of glass to the peak of Mount Warning, where the first ray of morning sun hits Australia.....

.... Alternatively, in ‘Kings’ you can sit on your covered verandah during the odd rainforest downpour and watch as the water cascades down streams and bursts into the lily pond. All represent the height of both luxury and value for money. You can expect lots of polished timber, CDs, TVs and double spas on decks (with fantastic views), terracotta tiles in exceptional bathrooms, bamboo blinds, soft robes, good linen and inspiring interior design. Roger and Margaret designed and built each lodge, putting in floodlights so you can sit on your deck at night and look deep into the rainforest. Dinner can be brought to you, or, alternatively, you can eat out or cook your own (each lodge has a fully-equipped kitchen). All this in the heart of a World Heritage National Park, so don’t expect to be disturbed! You can climb Mount Warning easily; good paths lead up and the reward is a 360-degree view of rainforest, coast and ocean.
